(Hunt Valley, MD) May 19, 2011, Stroke: Reducing Your Risk, a newly released video program from Milner-Fenwick, Inc., has been recognized as one of the best patient education programs of the last year.
The 14-minute program passed through HeSCA’s demanding peer review process that highlights a select number of individuals and organizations whose works represent the very best in health sciences media production. Stroke prevention is a very important goal since up to 80 percent of all strokes can be prevented-according to the National Stroke Association.
"This video helps people at risk for stroke in two very important ways" according to Richard Milner, CEO of Milner-Fenwick.
"It helps reduce their risk of stroke by highlighting what they can do to make it less likely that they’ll have a stroke."
"Also, it details how to recognize that someone is having a stroke by explaining the signs and symptoms (including TIAs), and the importance of getting to the hospital as quickly as possible. Getting treated at a hospital soon after the beginning of a stroke can reduce the disability you suffer. That’s very significant"
