Diabetes
Patient Education PowerPoint® Unit
Healthy Eating for People with Diabetes
Second Edition
Summary
This unit is full of colorful displays of foods that demonstrate healthy choices as well as not-so-healthy choices. It is ideal for both individual and community presentations. It includes real-life examples of food choices and menus. It features an introductory core lecture on diabetes and nutrition and continues with more details about carbohydrate counting and barriers to heathy eating. There are slides showing portion sizes, specific examples of fats, carbohydrates and proteins, a rainbow of foods, alcohol use, free foods, exchange lists, restaurant menus, fad diets, the BMI chart, and specific cultural foods.
These slides will save you hours of time in preparing lectures. Because they are already in a PowerPoint® file, you can save them to your hard drive and rearrange as needed. Mix them with your own slides or slides from our other units to create a truly individualized presentation.
